Delhi has been known as the world’s most polluted capital for a few years in a row. A business centre in the heart of the commercial hub of Nehru Place in New Delhi fixed the indoor air quality and was certified by the Central Pollution Control Board of India as the healthiest building of India. Mr Kamal Meattle, the Chairman Emeritus of this business centre – Paharpur Business Centre – also did a TED talk in 2009 on How to Grow Fresh Air.
The visit to this business centre showed the science behind clean air and how the various ISO standards are maintained in this building in all it engineering functions. A behind the scenes look into the engineering of the building included an understanding of solar energy system, fresh air systems, air conditioning systems, chiller plant room, security and fire safety systems.

This gave a good insight into lab equipment, testing protocols, and reporting mechanisms that are followed on a daily basis.
